Job Description

Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas and their applications to broad disciplines of humanities and social sciences: Smart City; Computational Social Science; Geographic Information Science; Urban Science and Informatics; Digital Cartography; Geospatial Big Data; AI and Machine Learning; Digital Culture and Society; Urban Governance, Innovation, Planning and Design etc.

Job Requirement 

Candidates should have a PhD degree in a related discipline. Successful candidates are expected to be well-established international scholar in the field who committed to excellence in undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and research. Candidates are also expected to be academic and intellectual leader who are responsible to build and uplift a new-born and exciting program of Digital Social Sciences into a fledged program with cutting-edging and reputation in GBA, China. The candidate is required to work with the administrative team of the Department and Faculty and welcome – as well as initiate – relevant collaborations with other Departments and Faculties across the college. Preference will be given to candidates who are already recognized as or equivalent to international and national high/top level scholars. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with successful candidate’s experience and research accomplishments.

Appointment Terms

Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
