Tsinghua International School was founded in March 2009 as part of Tsinghua Affiliated High School to provide children of expatriates and returnees in China with an education model that is consistent with Western educational philosophies and practices, while emphasizing the integration of Chinese and Western cultures and the development of internationally minded social elites and leaders. It is a leading boarding and day school in Beijing, under the joint jurisdiction of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Tsinghua University.
