About UWC Changshu China
United World Colleges (UWC), founded in 1962, is a unique global educational movement in the world today. It brings together young people from different backgrounds around the world to study and live together, contributing to international understanding and promoting peace.
The creation of the first UWC was described by The Times as “the most exciting experiment in education since the Second World War”.
The UWC originated from the idea of Dr. Kurt Hahn, a German educator, who believed that if young people from different countries, races and religions were brought together to live together and learn from each other, they could make an important contribution to the elimination of conflicts between countries or regions and to the promotion of friendship among peoples.
Admissions to the 15th United World College of Changshu China (UWC Changshu China), located on the shores of Kuncheng Lake in Changshu, China, officially launched in November 2014 and opened on September 30, 2015. UWC Changshu China is open to outstanding students from around the world and offers the IBDP program for grades 11 and 12, as well as a Foundation Preparatory Program specifically designed for grade 10 in preparation for the formal IBDP program.
