The university consists of three campuses in the south, north and west. The existing campus covers an area of ??1,650 mu. The university recruits students from 27 provinces and cities across the country, with a total of 19,580 full-time students.
Huanggang Normal University now has 18 teaching colleges, with 64 undergraduate majors and 43 junior college majors.
The university has extensive international exchanges. It is now a governing unit of the China Education International Exchange Association. It has established stable exchanges and cooperation with relevant universities and institutions in more than 50 countries and regions such as the United States and the United Kingdom. It has successively hired more than 100 foreign experts and scholars. The school teaches and lectures, sends more than 100 people to foreign universities and scientific research institutions for cooperative research, more than 200 people go abroad to participate in international academic conferences, and more than 180 teachers and students go abroad to teach Chinese. In 2010, the school established the International Education College to carry out international cooperation in running schools. There are currently 5 Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. Since 2011, it has co-organized the undergraduate major of animation with Kibi International University in Japan, and has co-organized the undergraduate major of preschool education with the University of Worcester in 2014. In December 2018, the first “Confucius Classroom” jointly built by the school and Sri Lanka’s Subalgmuwa University officially opened.
