Job Description
The State Key Laboratory of Tea Plant Biology and Utilization is based on the national key (cultivation) discipline of Anhui Agricultural University—— Tea Science. This discipline, formerly known as the Tea Specialization Department of Agriculture College of Fudan University, is the cradle of tea science discipline in China and has been selected as the world-class Discipline Construction Plan of Anhui Province and Anhui Province Summit Discipline. At present, the laboratory focuses on four main research directions: physiological ecology and germplasm innovation of tea tree, secondary metabolism and quality chemistry of tea tree, health function and mechanism of action of tea, and quality safety and processing utilization of tea.
The laboratory has:
1) First-class scientific research conditions: the total area of research covers 12,000 square meters; the original value of instruments and equipment is more than hundreds of millions of yuan. It has also formed ten technical platforms, including tea molecular biology, bioinformatics analysis, metabolomics, separation and structure identification, cytological analysis, experimental animals, quality and safety testing technology, quality control technology, physiology and nutrition, and spectral analysis.
2) First-class scientific research team: the laboratory has 71 scientific researchers, including 30 professors, 3 national talents, 28 returned from abroad, 27 PhD supervisors. Now, it has formed a multidisciplinary research team, and has been approved as the first batch of provincial science and technology innovation team in Anhui Province, Anhui Province 115 industrial innovation team, the Ministry of Education innovation team, “the province’s top ten excellent industrial innovation team”, and the fifth “National Advanced Collective of Professional and Technical Talents”. In 2016, the Laboratory’s tea chemistry and health team was approved as a key laboratory for international cooperation by the Ministry of Education; in 2020, the Laboratory was selected as one of the “Innovation and Wisdom Introduction Program for Higher Education”. The Laboratory is becoming an important research base for tea disciplines at home and abroad, a place where outstanding scientific and technological talents gather, and a base for cultivating high-level talents in tea science.

I. Application
(1) specialties and research directions
Background in synthetic biology, tea processing and deep processing, plant secondary metabolism, developmental biology of horticultural plants (tea trees, etc.), physiological ecology of tea trees, plant protection, intelligent machinery, food flavor chemistry, nutritional health and other related disciplines.

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Sciences or the Academy of Engineering of developed countries. Members of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, outstanding talents of the National High-Level Talent “Special Support Program”, winners of the National Science and Technology Award Grand Prize (ranked first) or other outstanding talents of equivalent level, generally not more than sixty-five years old.
Level 2
Inductees of National Overseas High-Level Talents Introduction Program, Leading Talents of National High-Level Talents “Special Support Program”, Teaching Masters of National High-Level Talents “Special Support Program”, Specially Appointed Professor of the Ministry of Education, National Outstanding Young Scientists Fund Recipients, the first prize winner of the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award the equivalent level of leading talents, generally not more than fifty-five years old.
Level 3
1. Talents selected for the Young Overseas High-level Talents Introduction Plan, young top-notch talents selected for the National High-level Talents Special Support Plan, scholars sponsored by the Outstanding Youth Science Foundation of the National Natural Science Foundation, national candidates for youth of the Ministry of Education or high-level talents with similar academic capacities, aged no older than 45 in principle;
2. Talents who have obtained first prize in the three major National Science and Technology Awards (the Natural Science Award, the Technological Invention Award and the Technology Progress Award) as the top 3 accomplisher or the second prize as the first accomplisher, aged no older than 45 in principle.
Level 4
Talents who work for foreign famous universities or research institutions as assistant professor or higher title and the domestic as associate professor or higher, or have more than 3 years of work experience at home and abroad (including postdoctoral), or professional and technical personnel who work for the international famous enterprises as senior positions with a higher level of scientific research and strong scientific and technological innovation ability;
And with one of the following conditions:
1. Scholars selected for the Innovative Talents Promotion Plan by Ministry of Science and Technology or Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University planed by Ministry of Education, the outstanding talents in agricultural research of The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, winners of 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertations in China, or provincial and ministerial talents of the same level, aged no older than 40 in principle.
2. Talents who administer the Key projects of National Natural Science or Social Science Foundation of China, National Science and Technology Major Project or National Key R&D Program of China, aged no older than 45 in principle.
3. Scholars who obtained top 5 in the first prize of the three major National Science and Technology Awards or top 3 in second prize, or the first accomplisher of the first prize of science and technology Awards in provincial and ministerial level, aged no older than 40 in principle.
4. Talents who breed two new animal or plant varieties (new animal lines or supporting lines) approved at the national level or four new plants growing in large amount varieties approved at the provincial level as the first accomplisher, or have five national authorized invention patents obtained for the achievements of new technology and new equipment, and the direct income from the transfer is more than 1.5 million yuan or more than 5 million yuan in total, aged no older than 45 in principle.
5. Scholars who have published more than one research academic paper of this discipline as the first author in Nature, Science, Cell and other international authoritative academic journals in the past five years, aged no older than 40 in principle.
6. Agricultural and forestry disciplines of natural sciences: Scholars who have published more than 6 SCI research papers in Grade 1 of CAS as the first author or corresponding author in recent 5 years, or no less than 2 SCI research papers in Grade 1 of CAS with an impact factor greater than 10.0, aged no older than 40 in principle.
7. Material chemistry of natural science (materials science, chemistry): Scholars who have published more than 8 SCI research papers in the Grade 1 of CAS in this discipline as the first author or corresponding author in recent 5 years, or more than 4 SCI research papers in the Grade 1 of CAS in this discipline with an impact factor greater than 10.0, aged no older than 40 in principle.
8. Natural science and engineering (engineering, physics, mathematics): Scholars who have published more than 4 research SCI academic papers in the Grade 1 of CAS in this discipline as the first author or corresponding author in recent 5 years, or published at least 2 research SCI academic papers in the Grade 1 of CAS in this discipline with an impact factor greater than 8.0, aged no older than 40 in principle.
9. Young top-notch talents equivalent to the above levels.
(3) Salary and Treatment
Full-time:
Level 1
1. Scientific research start-up fund: 30 million RMB for natural sciences and 5 million RMB for Humanities and social sciences.
2. Settlement pay: 5 million-8 million RMB (pre-tax)
3. Annual allowance: no less than 2 million RMB (pre-tax)
4. Provide studios and supporting facilities, and give special concessions in providing academic assistant echelons and carrying out international research and exchanges.
5. The University offers appropriate jobs to the spouses of the talents.
Level 2
1. Scientific research start-up fund: 10 million RMB for natural sciences and 1-2 million RMB for Humanities and social sciences.
2. Settlement pay: 2-4 million RMB (pre-tax)
3. Annual allowance: 0.8-1.2 million RMB (pre-tax)

II. Postdoctoral application
Requirements:
1. No bad records such as academic integrity and violation of laws and disciplines.
2. Be interested in research and have a strong team spirit and a strong sense of responsibility.
3. Have a doctor’s degree related to the research direction of key laboratories; The age should be under 35 generally;
4. Applicants should have published academic papers in internationally recognized high-quality academic journals or achieved high-level academic achievements as the first author.
5. Applicants should have good English listening and speaking skills, proficiency in reading professional literature, and strong Chinese and English writing skills.
6. Be able to carry out full-time academic research in our laboratory.
(2) Job duties
1. Complete the research work assigned by the cooperative supervisor or independently undertake the relevant topics.
2. Assist subject leader in subject and lab management.
(3) Salary and Treatment

2. Those who have outstanding performance during the station may be given priority to be hired as permanent researchers on the staff of the key laboratory.
3. Title declaration: Postdoctoral researchers who have not obtained professional and technical positions can apply to participate in the evaluation of the corresponding professional and technical positions organized by the university.
4. Housing: The university provides housing in the postdoctoral apartment for the postdoctoral fellows during the two years of their stay, and the rent and utilities are in accordance with the relevant regulations of the university.
