| Job Description: | The purpose of these roles and responsibilities is to outline briefly the tasks required of a secondary teacher in the secondary school. As a school we are trying to achieve high standards by responding professionally, sensitively and caringly to the needs of all YCIS pupils. All teachers must demonstrate a standard of knowledge, understanding and skills of the curriculum taught in the school. | Job Requirements: | • Minimum BA degree in education or relevant subject area • Formal school teaching certification • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant teaching experience, ideally with some international experience • Commitment to the holistic education of young people • Care, patience, perseverance and positivity • Relevant knowledge and understanding of subject/curriculum area and related pedagogy • Appropriate personal literacy • Familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Office and data management systems • Good people skills and the ability to work as part of a number of teams • Good communication skills • Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and/ or IGCSE and A level programs is desirable • The ability to teach more than one Primary Grade level or Secondary subject area is desirable • Experience of working with EAL learners is desirable |
