Introduction to Jinzhong University
The predecessor of Jinzhong University (晋中学院, website) was the Jinzhong Normal College, which was founded in 1958. In May 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and was established on the basis of the merger of the former Jinzhong Normal College, Jinzhong College of Education, and Jinzhong Workers College. Shanxi Province is a full-time undergraduate college. In 2018, it became a master’s degree authorized project construction unit. The school is located in the heart of Sanjin and the hometown of Shanxi businessmen—Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. It is one of the many colleges and universities settled in the new campus area of Shanxi Province.
Jinzhong University covers an area of 827,400 square meters, with a building area of 516,600 square meters. The total value of teaching equipment is more than 110 million yuan. The library has 1.02 million volumes of books, 1,322 paper periodicals, and 165,000 electronic books. The college campus network covers all teaching, scientific research, teaching aid, office, and living places throughout the school, and provides a good platform for teaching, scientific research, distance learning, online office and online services.

The college has a number of research institutions such as the Jinzhong Cultural Ecology Research Center, Jinshang Culture Research Institute, Educational Science Research Institute, Language and Character Application Research Institute, China Shuttlecock Association Research Training Center. The college also hosted the 2006 National Sports Training and Promotion Activities for National Fitness and Olympic counterparts, and the National Training for Shuttlecock Coaches and Referees, and the National Shuttlecock Exam.
Jinzhong University attaches great importance to the quality of personnel training. Since its establishment, it has trained many scientists, well-known scholars, professors, government officials, successful entrepreneurs, outstanding engineers and thousands of advanced members in different positions. In recent years, students have won more than 100 national awards in the National Mathematical Modeling Competition, Mechanical Innovation Design Competition, Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability Competition, 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition, English Competition, and Art Competition. In particular, the college team has won women’s team championships, men’s doubles championships, men’s singles champions, men’s team runners-up, women’s doubles runner-ups, and mixed doubles runner-ups in major competitions such as the National University Games, National Shuttlecock Championships, and World Shuttlecock Championships. In recent years, the Jinzhong College freshman admission score line has ranked first among similar schools in the province, and the one-time employment rate of students is at the forefront of similar schools in the province. The undergraduate entrance examination rate remains above 20%.
