I、Position Information

II、Salary and Benefits

1. Salary: Monthly salary varies from RMB6,000yuan to RMB12,000yuan (before tax), pay by the employment contract.
2. Additional bonus will be given according to the annual performance assessment of the completion of one year contract.
3. Meal Bonus: Meal bonus paid by month.
4. The Air ticket covering the most direct route (or lowest price ticket) from your home country to Chongqing for arrival shall be reimbursed at the beginning of the contract. When you complete one academic year of service for SISU, we shall reimburse you one-way international air ticket covering the most direct route (or lowest price ticket) from Chongqing to your home country. 5. A free apartment equipped with necessary living facilities on campus, including certain quota of water, electricity, gas free for use and free Internet access etc.
6. SISU purchases medical insurance covering mainland China for every foreign teacher. And each semester, we provide additional RMB500 yuan of outpatient medical expenses, which can be reimbursed with official invoices from public hospitals. We don’t provide medical expenses and insurance for foreign teachers outside mainland China, so you are required to purchase medical insurance covering overseas before entering China.
7. Free Chinese language training classes will be set up regularly.

I. Introduction to the university

Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (“GDUFS”) is a major international university, one of the key higher education institutions “To Be Developed into High-Standard Universities” in Guangdong Province. It is an important base in South China for cultivating talents with a global vision and for research on foreign languages and cultures, global economic governance, foreign legal research, and international communication of Chinese Culture. It also hosts the secretariat of the “Asian University Presidents Forum (AUPF)”.GDUFS is a partner institution of the United Nations University Outreach Program for Training High-end Translators and Interpreters in China, an associate member of the Conférence Internationale permanente d’Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interprètes (CIUTI) and the International Federation of Translators (FIT), a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), and a UN MOU University. GDUFS is located in Guangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China and the economic center of South China. GDUFS is one of the first universities in China to carry out the appointment of international teachers to academic posts based on evaluation of their qualifications and performance so that international teachers working at GDUFS can apply for appointment to different academic positions by using the university’s assessment and appointment system. The university has set up research projects for foreign teachers and encourages them to apply for funding for research projects and attend international conferences. It has also set up the “Excellent International Teachers Award” to honor international teachers with excellent teaching results and outstanding performance. II. Basic requirements for recruitment

(1) Long-term foreign teachers to be hired must in principle be younger than 60 years of age, in good health, with no criminal record and no outstanding legal disputes or cases. According to the “Classification Standards for Foreigners Working in China (for Trial Implementation)” issued by the State Administration of Foreign Experts, elite foreign talents (Class A) are not subject to age and work experience restrictions.

(2) International teachers must abide by Chinese laws and regulations and the university’s rules and regulations, be friendly to China, fully respect traditional Chinese culture and customs, respect the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party of China, and refrain from carrying out missionary work illegally during teaching or on any other occasion.

Positions

Subject Teachers (International)

Phd degree holders in relevant fields with at least two years’ full-time teaching experience in relevant fields; high proficiency in English to teach Atmospheric Sciences, Data Science and Big Data Technology ( undergraduate programme), Geographic Information Science, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Environmental Engineering, International Trade and Economics, Applied Chemistry and Data Science and Data and Decision Analysis ( postgraduate programme) ; strong research capacity in relevant fields.

The first term of employment is for 5 years with a probationary period of 1 year. The evaluation may be based on a point system or personalized (agreement) assessment.
The annual salary is generally no less than RMB 300,000 (before tax), with the settlement fee of no less than RMB 100,000 and Nanjing Social Insurance provided. A monthly rental allowance of RMB 1500 is available and has the priority to rent a rental on-campus talent apartment (the teacher himself/herself shall pay for the rent, network, water & electricity fee, and relevant costs). Annual travel allowance of RMB 10,000-15,000 is provided.
Foreign professional teachers are managed and served by NUIST Reading Academy and will participate in research team of their respective faculty. A co-teacher will be assigned to each foreign teacher to help with affairs on and off campus.

English Teachers（non-Chinese nationality）

Applicants should be from native English-speaking countries such as the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Ireland, with a MSc. degree or above and at least 2 years’ work experience in English teaching. There is no requirement for work experience for applicants majored in Education, Language or graduated from normal universities. Applicants should be under the age of 60.
