Tenured/Tenure-track Positions in Psychology

October 13, 2022

Job Description

NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications
for several positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full professor in Psychology.

We seek candidates at the rank of full,
associate, or assistant professor in Psychology (or a closely related discipline). We are interested both in building on our current
strengths, in gender and sexuality, child development, and legal psychology, and in developing innovative and exciting collaborations with
faculty across the social sciences (particularly global public health and sociology) and natural and computational sciences (particularly
neuroscience, AI and big data). Thus we invite applications in all fields of psychology and encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to
apply.

The psychology faculty at NYU Shanghai currently consists of one tenured, three tenure-track as well as two contract
faculty professors. Our key research areas make the profile of psychology at NYU Shanghai unique in China. Issues of gender and especially
sexuality are underrepresented at Chinese universities and NYU Shanghai has the potential to become a leading center for research in this
area in China. The same is true with legal psychological research where we have competencies in especially child forensic interviewing.
Finally, our child development research has a unique emphasis on cultural context and interdisciplinarity. Research in this area is
particularly focused on identifying risk and resilience factors in individual and family psychological and behavioral wellbeing, with a
focus on disadvantaged populations.
