Introduction to Chizhou University

Chizhou University (池州学院, website) is located in Chizhou, an excellent tourist city in China. Founded in 1977, it was the Chizhou area college of Anhui Labor University. It was named Chizhou Teachers College in 1980. The former Chizhou Institute of Technology was incorporated in 1999. The former Anhui Economic and Trade School was incorporated in 2002. It was upgraded to Chizhou College in 2007. In 2014, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education.

Chizhou University now covers an area of 1959 acres, with a campus area of 367,700 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 13.453387 million yuan, 1.371 million volumes of paper books, 800,400 volumes of electronic books, and nearly 2,000 kinds of paper periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages. The only open TV station in Anhui province. There are 698 full-time teachers, of whom 66 are senior professional titles, 163 are deputy senior titles, and 611 are doctors or masters. Chizhou University currently has 13 teaching and research units. Among them, the School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence was identified by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of project construction colleges for the “Data China 100 School Project.” The school adheres to the talent training concept of “people-oriented and application-oriented”, adheres to the talent training model of “competency-oriented, quality-based, expertise diversion, and cooperative training”, and takes “characteristic universities with distinctive characteristics” as the development direction. Chizhou University has established a national university student off-campus practical education base, 4 provincial demonstration experimental training centers, 10 provincial school-enterprise cooperative practice education bases, 1 provincial talent training model innovation experimental area, and provincial outstanding talents. There are 6 education training programs, and 1 provincial-level applied teacher teaching ability development center. Chizhou University has one provincial key humanities and social science research base (Chizhou College Wannan Folk Culture Research Center), one provincial key discipline, one provincial key laboratory, and a provincial key laboratory , 1 municipal engineering research center. Chizhou University and the Chizhou Municipal Party Committee jointly formulated the “Joint Conference System of Chizhou and Chizhou Colleges”, which pioneered the joint deliberative mechanism of provincial universities and territorial governments. As the only undergraduate university in Chizhou City, the school plays the role of a “local think tank” and becomes the “six people” of school-land cooperation, namely, the co-founders of Chizhou, the planners of ecological Chizhou, and the designers of tourism Chizhou.
