Xinxiang Medical University (新乡医学院, website) is located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. It is an independently-established western medical college in Henan Province. The school’s roots can be traced back to the Western Medical Clinic set up by Luo Weiling, a British Canadian and a doctor of medicine in the ancient city of Weihui in 1896. Medical education began in the nurse school of Huimin Hospital in 1922. (Named “Chinese Nurses Association”) awarded a diploma. In 1949, Ji Lu Yu Health School and Harrison Hospital moved in. In 1950, Plain Medical College was established. The school experienced the development stages of North China Second Medical School, Jixian Medical School of Henan Province, and Xinxiang Medical College. It was renamed Yubei Medical College in 1962; it was upgraded to bachelor degree in 1982, and was named Xinxiang Medical College. In 2006, it successfully passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education and obtained excellent; in 2016, it was praised by the expert group in the review and evaluation of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education.
