Introduction to Tianjin University of Science and Technology
Tianjin University of Science and Technology (天津科技大学, website) is a key construction university jointly established by the central and local governments in Tianjin. It has been selected into the National “111 Plan”, the “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program” of the Ministry of Education, and Tianjin “Double First Class” construction university. The university is a member unit of the “Belt and Road” University Food Education Technology Alliance.
The university currently has two campuses, one in Binhai and one in Hexi. Binhai campus is located in the central area of Tianjin Binhai New Area-Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone. It covers an area of about 2,300 acres. There are more than 26,000 full-time students in undergraduate, master, and doctoral programs, and more than 2,000 faculty members. The library has a collection of 1.87 million books, a total value of 718 million yuan in teaching and research equipment, complete stadiums and special training facilities. The university also has a high-level fast campus Internet system.
Tianjin University of Science and Technology has established academic connections with universities and research institutions in more than 40 countries. It has an international exchange program for outstanding undergraduates of the China Scholarship Council, and holds 3 undergraduate Sino-foreign cooperative education programs; the university has signed “3+1+1”, “2+2” and other joint training programs with universities in the United States, Britain, and Canada Talent agreement, and set up special funds to support students to participate in academic exchanges abroad;
The university holds various international academic conferences every year, and invites well-known foreign experts and scholars to come to the university for exchanges, lectures, scientific and technological cooperation; the university has accepted international students and visiting scholars from more than 80 countries to study. It now has 200 registered foreign students, and 1,000 long-term and short-term international exchange students every year; the university actively promotes the international promotion of Chinese language and establishes a Confucius Institute with Assumption University in Thailand; the university has established two national international scientific and technological cooperation bases and three Tianjin international scientific and technological cooperation The base serves the school’s teaching and research work.
