About the School of Microelectronics

The School of Microelectronics at Tianjin University is one of the 28 National Demonstration Schools of Microelectronics in China. The School currently has over 800 undergraduate students and 700 graduate students. In December 2017, Tianjin University released the “Tianjin University World-Class University Construction Plan”. Microelectronics is one of the ten core areas with major support from Tianjin University. The major tracks in the Department of Microelectronics are: Electronics Science and Technology, Microelectronics, and Solid-state microelectronics.

 

About Tianjin Integrated Circuit Core Fire Double Creation Platform

Tianjin Integrated Circuit Core Fire Double Creation Platform is operated by the Tianjin Institute of Chip Microsystem Integration Co. Ltd., which vigorously promotes the integration of fabrication technologies, education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and other related work to serve scientific research and industrial development of integrated circuits. Tianjin Integrated Circuit Core Fire Double Creation Platform provides strong academic and industrial support on integrated circuits, and continues to facilitate the scientific research, training, and industrial development of integrated circuits.

The 12th “Peiyang Young Scientists” Forum is expected to be held online in June this year, including the main forum and sub-forums. The specific time will be notified separately. Faculty Positions

01 Chair Professor

Candidate can lead the research tracks, program strategy, and creative research areas. The candidate should lead their own research work to catch up or maintain the international top-notch level of their specific academic research fields. The candidate is committed to the improvement of the overall quality of junior faculty and the quality of specific research tracks or academic programs. Additional contribution in recruiting outstanding future faculty candidates is highly encouraged.

02 Outstanding Young Professor

Candidate should have a good record of research and teaching, and the ability of leading an independent research. A successful candidate should be able to lead the research area and contribute to the major needs of national economic development. The candidate is required to develop unique projects or techniques to enhance the academic quality of the department. Additional contributions in academic tracks, key laboratory setups, future faculty searching, and international collaborations are encouraged. Candidates are required to accomplish the teaching tasks required by the university.

03 Outstanding Young Associate Professor

Candidate should have a good record of research and teaching, the ability of leading an independent research. The candidate should be able to develop their own research area and contribute to the needs of the department, university, and the society. Additional contributions in academic tracks, key laboratory setups, future faculty searching, and international collaborations are encouraged. Candidates are required to accomplish the teaching tasks required by the university.

04 Young Associate Professor

The candidate should develop a research direction that is in line with the needs of one of the specific research tracks. The candidate should have certain academic achievements in his/her research field, or with a good academic potential in future research directions.

Candidate is encouraged to participate in high-level international conferences and other forms of international academic exchange activities in his/her research field. The candidate should apply for the funding opportunities from the nation and province.

05 Postdoctoral Fellow

The postdoctoral researchers are required to participate the research work led by faculty members. The candidates are encouraged to contribute in technology commercialization and teaching tasks, as well as construction of specific research tracks and key laboratory development.

 

Salary and benefits

The School, the country and Tianjin jointly provide competitive salaries, welfare benefits, generous scientific research start-up funds and good working and living conditions. If there is a need for settlement, the settlement shall be handled in accordance with the policy requirements of Tianjin. Chair Professor, Outstanding Young Professor, and Outstanding Young Associate Professor, are employed by career establishment. Contracts will be prepared for Young Associate Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow individually.
