SA International Education Group is going to start two schools in Guangzhou (China) in August 2022. We are inviting high potential candidates of Performing Arts Teachers to join the two schools of ISA Liwan International School and ISA Wenhua LIwan School.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the creativity and high quality of teaching and learning of the class, assisted by a teaching assistant.
  • Organising the work of the teaching assistant.
  • Sharing responsibilities for curriculum development, display, performances, trips and organising some aspects of special events.
  • Fostering a caring atmosphere and showing commitment to the well-being and social and academic progress of each pupil.
  • Acting in accordance with relevant legislation in the PRC and Guangzhou, particularly with regards to educational provision, health and safety initiatives and safeguarding and ensure that all students and staff maintain these standards.

Key Requirements

  • University degree and a recognised qualification (such as PGCE or Primary/Secondary Education) with a major in Performing Arts (Music/Drama)
  • High command of English level
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Primary/Secondary Years education, ideally with experience in an international educational setting
  • Experience in teaching second language learners
  • Strong knowledge and/or experience and/or enthusiasm to teach in the IB PYP/MYP curriculum framework
  • Curriculum development knowledge
  • Be inter-culturally aware with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning

THE ROLE

As a Performing Arts Teacher, the successful candidate will be expected to support the delivery of the Performing Arts programme in our Primary and Secondary schools. We are looking for an individual who has experience in delivering Drama (and Dance) to a variety of age groups including KS4 and 5 and are particularly interested in applicants who can also offer a third subject of Music at KS1, 2 or 3. Individuals will have a passion for the Performing Arts and a desire to explore and deliver our specialist Juilliard curriculum as well as enthusiasm and experience in delivering an extracurricular programme.

2022 IGCSE RESULTS

The two main criteria that are used to judge examination performance for 16 year olds in the UK are; achieving 5 grades at ‘C’ or above, and the number of the highest grades achieved. We are very proud that 100% of all examinations sat by the British School of Guangzhou students received grade ‘C’ or above.

This is a tremendous achievement, but our top students really shone with 62% of exams taken awarded either grade ‘A*’ or ‘A ‘- the highest possible grades. This is compared to the UK’s average of 29%, showing just how far ahead our students are as they move to university entry.

A particular mention must go to the Science Department with 91% of grades awarded A*-A for Triple Science and to our Mandarin Department who recorder 100% A*-A grades.

2022 A-LEVEL RESULTS

With a 100% pass rate, our A-Level results are testament to our academic success and commitment to building a lifelong love of learning.

59% of exams taken by our students achieved an ‘A’ or ‘A*’ grade (UK average 44%).

81% achieved A*- B grades (UK average 70%)

It’s worth mentioning that over 80% of students received A* in Further Maths, Physics and Geography.
