We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Architecture Manager.

Business: MDS & DAO ESG

Principal responsibilities

• To design solution architecture for ESG Data use cases.  The solution architecture includes data flows and data models, and provide a holistic view(s) of underlying technology stack, data architecture and business processes.

• To ensure the solution architecture are compliant to HSBC Data Architecture design principles and Data Reference Architecture, minimize technical debt and can sustain longer though data technologies are volving quicker.  Document formal approvals received on key architecture decisions, for audit and for corporate memory.

• To ensure the solution architecture designs are cost effective, and the solution can grow and evolve non-intrusively through agile development lifecycles.  Plan and manage the backlog of design activities to enable such non-intrusive evolution.

• To ensuring the solution architecture design are aligned with the roadmap of ESG Data Capabilities (both business and technical), group standards and policies and the overall enterprise architecture. 

• To clearly articulate the design to different stakeholders, including senior business sponsors, project managers, solution and data architects from concerned Global Business (e.g. Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking) and Global Functions (e.g. Global Finance and Global Risk)

• Strong solution architecture skill, i.e. structured in problem analysis and solution design for each problem.

• Strong domain knowledge of Data Technologies and Data Controls will be advantage.

• Strong domain knowledge in one business domain can be advantage, e.g. Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking (Private Banking, Insurance, Asset Management, Wealth Management), Finance reporting.

• Strong communication skills, can

• clearly articulate the designs and rationales with the help of diagrams at different detail level to different level of stake holders,

• attentive listener who can find out the real concerns from different stake holders.

• Result driven, will not get lost in complex situations where contradicting ideas create loops, i.e. the ability to break the loops into acyclic path towards solutions.

• Approachable personality, brave and skillful to deal with difficult personalities and situations.

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Deep data architecture knowledge for Hadoop, GCP or Azure.

• Deep ESG reporting and data knowledge

• Deep data modeling knowledge
