SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

EARLY CHILDHOOD AND ELEMENTARY EDUCATION DIVISION

The Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division (ECEED), an academic arm of the School of Continuing Education, is the premier provider of early childhood and primary school teacher education in Hong Kong. It currently offers a range of academic programmes on a full-time or part-time basis for students pursuing courses with qualifications awarded from certificate to postgraduate levels. Its training programmes on early childhood education are supported by the Hong Kong Baptist University Kindergarten (HKBU-K) which provides a training platform for the students of ECE programmes. HKBU-K, as a university-affiliated kindergarten, adopts play-based learning and values whole-child development for children. Applications are now invited for the following position:

Senior Programme Administrator (PR0175/22-23)

The appointee will be responsible for overseeing a team to provide administrative support to the ECEED programmes. Major duties include: a) providing quality assurance-related support including but not limited to report preparation, programme/course revision and new programme/course development; b) assisting in financial/budget preparation and office management; c) participating and contributing in the organisation and coordination of various Division’s exercises; and d) providing secretarial support to committees and working groups. He/She is also expected to perform any ad hoc duties for the Division as assigned by the supervisor(s).

Applicants should possess a recognised University Degree or Postgraduate Degree with at least seven years of relevant work experience. They should have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; effective interpersonal and organisational skills with self-motivation and attention to detail. Proficiency in computer applications (including Chinese word processing, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is also required.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
