Co-funded by the People’s Government of Hunan Province and National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Hengyang Medical School consists of three schools, namely, School of Basic Medical Sciences, School of Public Health, School of Nursing, six affiliated hospitals. It has another nine teaching hospitals .

Hengyang Medical School has established the post-doctoral research mobile station for basic medical science and is eligible to confer doctorate degrees in basic medical science and clinical medical science. It offers master programs in basic medical science, clinical medical science, nursing, public health and preventive medicine and pharmacology in the first level disciplines, and offers 11 undergraduate programs in clinic medical science, pediatrics, anesthesiology, stomatology, medical imaging, medical laboratory science, biotechnology, preventive medical science, health inspection and quarantine, nursing and pharmacology. With a complete system of cultivating medical students, Hengyang Medical School also admits overseas students to work for their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees.

Hengyang Medical School has approximately 500 faculty members on campus; the six affiliated hospital are home to nearly 10000 professional personnel. Among them, about 2000 with senior technical titles. Over 40 of the faculty members enjoys various honorary titles such as talents of the Overseas High Level Talent Program, National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars Program, Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars Program, Chief Scientist of National Key Project, MOE-awarded “New Century Talents” and Experts Enjoying Special Allowance of State Council.

Top talents in disciplines

One who is a selected talent of state-level or provincial talent programs and has undertaken one national scientific research project over the past five years and meets one of the following requirements:

1 published 3 high quality papers (JCR region 1) in past 5 years, and are ESI highly cited (global 1%), or

2 the first prize winner of scientific research achievement awards at provincial, ministerial or higher level (rank first).

 

Young innovative talents

A selected talent of National “Four Youths” Program or one who has the ability to carry out independent research and has a stable research field and is active in academic thinking and has the potential to become a leader in the related field.

 

Outstanding young talents

One who has undertaken one national scientific research project over the past five years and is with one of the following achievements:

1 published 3 high quality papers (JCR region 1) and their respective impact factor is ≥10,or

2 the second prize winner of scientific research achievement awards at provincial or ministerial or higher level (rank first).

5 Types and requirements for post-doctoral fellows as teaching staff

 

Type A

 

In the past five years, he or she has published 4 high quality papers in JCR I (Chinese Academy of Sciences) as the first author or is the second or higher level prize winner of National Natural Science, Technological Invention, Scientific and Technological Progress, or the second or higher level prize winner of Outstanding Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences Research of Chinese Universities. He or she should rank top 7 in the first prize award, or top 5 in the second prize award.

 

Type B

 

In the past five years, he or she has published 2 high quality papers in JCR I (Chinese Academy of Sciences) as the first author or won the firs prize of provincial or ministry (including national defense, military) natural science, technological invention(patent), Scientific and Technological Progress, Outstanding Achievement Award of National Social Science Fund Project and ranked top 3 or obtained 3 or more national invention patents as the first accomplisher or has undertaken at least one general project, a youth project, or a special fund project of NSFC, or a planning project, or a later funded project of the National Social Science Foundation.

 

Type C

 

An outstanding doctoral graduate who meets the national and Hunan Province’s requirements for post-doctoral researchers

 

 

6 Treatment and supporting conditions for post-doctoral fellows as teaching staff

 

Type A

1. Annual salary: 300000 RMB;

2. Research initial fund: 150000RMB;

3. A one-time reward of 50000 RMB if outbounding with outstanding achievements;

4. 1000RMB of housing allowance monthly or the same amount of settlement allowance paid to a comparable hired teacher with a doctoral degree;

5. During the station, he or she may participate in the professional title evaluation of the university;

6. Upon the completion of the postdoctoral research, if he or she is qualified to be the faculty members,heor she can enjoy the corresponding talent treatment of the year when he entered the station.

 

Type B

1. Annual salary: 250000 RMB;

2. Research initial fund: 100000RMB;

3. A one-time reward of 50000 RMB if outbounding with outstanding achievements;

7 Types and requirements for doctoral graduates as teaching staff

 

Type A

In the past five years, one has published 4 high quality papers in JCR I (Chinese Academy of Sciences) as the first author and at least one paper is ESI highly cited (global 1%) or won the first prize of National Natural Science, Technological Invention, Scientific and Technological Progress, or the first prize of Outstanding Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences Research of Chinese Universities.

 

Type B

In the past five years, one has published 4 high quality papers in JCR I (Chinese Academy of Sciences) as the first author or won the second prize of National Natural Science, Technological Invention, Scientific and Technological Progress, or the second prize of Outstanding Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences Research of Chinese Universities.

 

Type C

In the past five years, one has published 2 high quality papers in JCR I (Chinese Academy of Sciences) as the first author or won the first prize of provincial or ministry (including national defense, military) Natural Science, Technological Invention(patent), Scientific and Technological Progress, won the first prize of provincial or ministry Philosophy and Social Science Achievements, or the first prize of Outstanding Achievement Award of National Social Science Fund Project, or has obtained 3 or more national invention patents as the first accomplisher or has undertaken at least one general project of NSFC, or Youth Science Special Fund Project, or a planning project, or a later funded project of the National Social Science Foundation or National Science and Technology Major Special Project, National Key R&D Program Tasks, National Science and Technology Support Program Projects, Technology Innovation Guidance Special Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Defense Key Projects or equivalent projects.

 

Type D

Excellent doctoral graduates urgently needed

 

8 Treatment and supporting conditions for doctoral graduates as teaching staff

 

For type A

1. Settlement allowance: 680000RMB;

2. Research initial fund: 500000RMB;

3. Hired as professor;

4. If the spouse is with a full-time undergraduate or higher graduation certificate or a master’s or higher degree, the school may provide him or her with a job in the form of personnel agency.

 

For type B

1. Settlement allowance: 580000RMB;
