About Company

Dongguan University of Technology (东莞理工学院, website) is the first institution of higher learning in Dongguan. It was established in April 1992 with the approval of the former State Education Commission. In March 2002, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to change to a full-time undergraduate institution of higher learning. In May 2006, it was approved as a bachelor’s degree-granting unit.

Campus

The Songshan Lake and Guancheng campuses cover a total area of 2,340 mu, of which Songshan Lake Campus is located at No. 1 University Road, Songshan Lake High-tech Industrial Development Zone. There are 20,252 regular full-time students and 18,936 adult education students.

The university has 19 experimental teaching centers, 10 of which are provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers. It has established a disciplined professional system focusing on engineering, management, literature, science, economics, law, education and other multidisciplinary coordinated development. There are 18 colleges and 52 undergraduate majors. The school recruits students from 25 provinces across the country and recruits the first batch of undergraduate students in 13 provinces.

International Cooperation

The university expands international cooperation and exchanges and forms a multi-national school-running pattern. The university is the only university in Guangdong Province that was successfully approved in 2017 to establish a Chinese-foreign cooperative institution, i.e. the Dongguan Institute of Technology – the French National Institute of Technology College. Up to now, the university has established cooperation and exchanges with 51 universities and research institutions in 25 countries and regions including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and France. Actively participate in the national “Belt and Road” strategy, as a member of the “China-Latin America Joint Laboratory on Clean Energy and Climate Change”, and reached 8 Latin American universities (research institutions) in five countries including Cuba, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico. Cooperation. Participated in three EU “Erasmus+” program teacher-student exchange programs.

The school ranks 188th in the comprehensive strength ranking of 2019 Chinese universities in the 2019 China University Comprehensive Strength Ranking released by iResearch China Alumni Association Network.
