Job Description

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 525844), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second fixed-term contract, subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree preferably in Developmental Biology, Medical/Biological/Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.  They should demonstrate evidence of scholarship in reproductive medicine and a strong track record of high-quality publications and competitive grants.  They should also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supervision of research postgraduate students.

The appointee is expected to work with a team of research scientists and clinicians in reproductive medicine; gynecological cancer/maternal and fetal medicine; publish in top-tier journals; apply for external competitive grants; supervise research staff and research postgraduate students; participate in planning and delivery of undergraduate/postgraduate teaching; and provide administrative support at Departmental, Faculty and University levels.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
