BASIS International School Nanjing is located in the University Town in Qixia District, Nanjing. The school is surrounded by high-end communities, scientific research institutes, high-technology companies, and top universities like Nanjing University and Nanjing Normal University. With these technological, cultural, and academic resources and scenic landscapes, the campus is perfectly situated for education practices.
BASIS International School Nanjing was opened in September 2019. It can accommodate 1,200 students from PreK-1 to Grade 12, including 418 boarding students. The school was accredited by Cognia (previously known as AdvancED) in its founding year.
The campus covers an area of 32,500 square meters and a building area of 30,000 square meters. There are 9 teaching buildings and dormitory buildings, which include 53 standard classrooms, 10 laboratories for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Science, and Engineering, all furnished as state-of-the-art facilities. Students also enjoy other arts and cultural spaces, such as library, auditorium, black-box theater, etc. Covering an area of 14,000 square meters, BASIS International School Nanjing’s sports field includes a 200-meter running track, a soccer field, four basketball courts, two tennis courts, a volleyball court, jumping pits, high-low bars, etc., all designed and installed with world-class lighting systems. This standalone sports field is connected with the teaching area by a secure pedestrian overpass, to avoid interference between one another.
Air filtration system has been installed in all indoor spaces, including classrooms, dorms, and library, to ensure that the average PM2.5 concentration is below 10µg/m³ and the average daily concentration of CO2 is no greater than 800ppm. This system keeps indoor air quality at a standard even stricter than the one set by WHO, which provides a healthy and comfortable learning environment for students.
