I. School Overview
The School of Government at Nanjing University is the oldest teaching and research institution of public governance in China and has the largest number of talented alumni in the field. It is also well-acknowledged around the world. The school has a strong faculty team leading by the scholars with talent titles in the national and provincial levels. The school has drawn a disciplinary development blueprint with profound foundation, outstanding focus, and distinctive characteristics. The school holds several first-class research platforms at the provincial-level and kept undertaking major national research projects. The school has established research and education partnerships with many international institutions. In the construction of “Double First-Class” university, the school is committed to the goal of promoting innovative research in basic theories and outstanding applied studies. It also aims to advance the interdisciplinary development of public governance.
II. Job Description
The School of Government plans to recruit outstanding young talents who are interested in key research directions in the field of public governance from all over the world. The opening positions are mainly for associate and assistant professors. Other high-level positions should be discussed separately. The school is interested in candidates who have research focuses on the following issues:
- Public Administration (one opening with Associate Professor)
- National Security (one opening with Associate Professor)
- Political Science (one opening with Assistant Professor)
III. Qualifications
- The applicant should abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and love teaching and research.
- The applicant should act in accordance with the teaching morality and the research ethics, work diligently, have no criminal record, and have no record of punishment for violating the teaching morality and research ethics.
- The applicant should have first-class academic background: the applicant should possess a doctorate degree in related disciplines, have study and work experience in first-class teaching or research institutions, and be familiar with the research trends. The applicant for Assistant Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than two years after receiving the doctoral degree. The applicant for Associate Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than four years after receiving the doctoral degree.
- The applicant should have excellent teaching skills: successful candidates should have the ability to teach the fundamental and cutting-edge courses, practice good pedagogy, and have strong communication skills.
- The applicant should demonstrate scholarly achievements in relevant research areas and show future research potential. Successful candidates should have novel contributions to the relevant research fields and have clear research plans.
- The applicant should have strong will and ability to serve the academic community: successful candidates should be able to perform actively in international academic communities and have excellent communication skill to improve teaching and research activities.

V. Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary system (negotiated separately);
- Research start-up funding (negotiated separately);
- Graduate admissions (in accordance with the school rules and procedures);
- The school provides short-term housing or subsidies. The recruited can purchase the commercial housing units provided by the school at a discount.
- The school can assist with your children’s enrollment in primary and secondary schools.

二、招聘岗位设置
南京大学政府管理学院拟面向全球招聘有志于从事公共治理领域重点研究方向的优秀青年人才到学院工作。本次拟招聘岗位以准聘副教授和助理教授为主;特别优秀的高层次人才岗位另议。招聘研究方向包括:
- 公共管理方向(准聘副教授1个);
- 国家安全方向(准聘副教授1个);
- 政治学方向(助理教授1个)。
三、申请条件
- 遵守中华人民共和国法律和法规,热爱教学科研事业;
- 具有良好的师德师风,恪守学术道德,勤勉工作,无犯罪记录,无违反师德师风和学术道德惩处记录;
- 一流的学术背景:具有相关学科领域的博士学位,具有一流教学科研机构的学习、工作经验,熟悉相关领域国际前沿的研究动态。其中准聘副教授要求博士毕业从事学术研究4年以上;助理教授要求博士毕业从事学术研究2年以上。
- 出色的教学能力:应具有能够胜任本专业核心基础课程和前沿课程的教学能力,掌握良好的教学方法,具有较强的语言表达能力;
- 突出的科研成果显示度与未来科研发展潜力:应有相关研究方向的成果显示度,对相关研究领域有原创性观点,未来研究计划思路清晰,具有较好的学术潜力。
- 较强的学术共同体参与能力:能够在国内外专业学术共同体中有积极表现,具备有助于教学和学术能力提升的交流互动能力。
