BASIS International School Guangzhou, the second BASIS Curriculum School outside of the U.S., is located in Huangpu Science City, Guangzhou, surrounded by poetic views of the green hillside. The campus covers an area of 16,143 square meters and a building area of 38,000 square meters, boasting a classical Chinese garden style. There is one teaching building, one dormitory building and one comprehensive building, including indoor activity rooms like dancing room, gym, table tennis room and billiard room, etc. The indoor and outdoor sports area also includes one 300-meter running track, one multi-purpose room, two basketball courts and one futsal court, etc.
Opened in September 2017, BASIS International School Guangzhou is able to accommodate 1,200 students from PreK-1 to Grade 12, including a boarding capacity of 309 students (boarding is open to students at and above Grade 5). As the first boarding school within the BASIS Curriculum Schools network, BASIS International School Guangzhou has accumulated abundant experience in dorm management, boarding activity organization, etc.
BASIS International School Guangzhou has been recognized as an academically competitive international school in the Pearl River Delta region since its establishment in 2017. The school was accredited by AdvancED in its founding year and has then been approved to implement the AP Capstone Diploma Program. Granted this opportunity, BASIS International School Guangzhou has become the seventh international school in the Chinese mainland and the first in Guangdong Province to offer students this advanced academic program.
