Senior Manager (Campus Safety and Facilities Management) (PR0107/22-23)

The University is seeking a dynamic and focused senior-level Campus Safety and Facilities Management professional to join the Estates Office.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Estates (Campus Safety and Facilities Management) and the Director of Estates, the Senior Manager is responsible for the planning, formulation and implementation of the policies and procedures relating to campus facilities management as well as campus safety and security. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Assistant Director of Estates to lead the teams under the Campus Safety and Facilities Management Section to provide facilities management, venue management and campus services;
  • Supervise the operation of places of public entertainment and sports facilities; as well as manage various services term contracts, including security, cleaning, landscaping, etc.;
  • Work closely with a safety team to ensure campus safety, including environmental, fire, health, laboratory and occupational safety; and
  • Handle and provide emergency response to incidents on campus when necessary. 

Requirements: 

  • A recognised degree in Property/Facilities Management, Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline and relevant professional qualifications with at least 10 years of experience at the senior management level;
  • Hands-on work experience in campus safety-related functions will be an advantage;
  • Strong engagement and management skills, strategic thinking and good knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and requirements; and
  • An excellent communicator and a good team player with proficiency in both English and Chinese. 

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement do not need to re-apply.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
